Jiangsu Hengfeng Fine Chemical Achieves Major Breakthrough in Customized Electronic Factory Wastewater Treatment Solution

Recently, the customized wastewater treatment solution tailored by Jiangsu Hengfeng Fine Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jiangsu Hengfeng") for an electronic factory's wastewater treatment needs has successfully completed experimental verification. The core product, high-ionicity cationic polyacrylamide (PAM), performed outstandingly, with treatment efficiency far exceeding the existing agents currently used on-site by the factory. Furthermore, it broke the traditional cognition of reagent selection for electronic factory wastewater treatment, achieving an unexpectedly optimal treatment effect with high-ionicity products, providing a new technical reference for wastewater treatment in the electronic industry.

Electronic industrial wastewater has complex components, containing various harmful substances such as heavy metal ions, organic pollutants, and suspended particles, which are difficult to treat and have high standards for up-to-standard discharge. The scientificity of reagent selection directly determines the treatment effect and operation cost. Previously, the electronic factory used conventional reagents for wastewater treatment, which could basically meet the up-to-standard requirements, but had problems such as low treatment efficiency, loose flocs, and large sludge output, and was in urgent need of a more efficient and adaptable customized solution.

Upon learning of the demand, Jiangsu Hengfeng quickly set up a professional technical team to conduct in-depth research on the factory's production site, comprehensively analyzing the wastewater quality characteristics, pollutant composition, and shortcomings of the existing treatment process. Different from the traditional treatment logic for electronic factory wastewater, the technical team found that the wastewater of this electronic factory has the colloidal characteristics of low concentration and high charge density, and conventional medium and low ionicity PAM could not fully exert the charge neutralization effect, making it impossible to efficiently capture pollutant particles.

Based on the research results, the technical team of Jiangsu Hengfeng accurately matched the wastewater characteristics, selected the company's high-ionicity cationic PAM product pertinently, designed an exclusive customized wastewater treatment solution, and carried out multiple rounds of parallel experiments to conduct a comprehensive performance comparison with the agents currently used on-site by the factory. The experimental process strictly followed the standard procedure, focusing on monitoring core indicators such as flocculation speed, floc strength, suspended solids (SS) removal rate, COD removal rate, and sludge output to ensure the authenticity and reliability of the data.

The experimental results show that Jiangsu Hengfeng's high-ionicity cationic PAM product has shown an unexpectedly high treatment efficiency: compared with the existing on-site agents, the flocculation speed is increased by more than 4 times, visible dense flocs can be formed in 30 seconds, and full sedimentation is completed within 2 minutes, greatly shortening the treatment cycle; the SS removal rate and COD removal rate are increased by more than 25% and 30% respectively, and the effluent quality is more stable, far exceeding the industry discharge standard; at the same time, the sludge output is reduced by more than 60%, and the sludge moisture content is reduced to below 92%, significantly reducing the subsequent sludge disposal cost and achieving the dual improvement of environmental and economic benefits.

It is worth noting that this achievement has broken the traditional industry cognition that "medium and low ionicty PAM is preferred for electronic factory wastewater treatment". According to the technical director of Jiangsu Hengfeng, in traditional electronic factory wastewater treatment, medium and low ionicty cationic PAM is mostly selected, which is considered to balance charge neutralization and adsorption bridging effects and adapt to the characteristics of most electronic wastewater. However, due to the special charge density of pollutants in the wastewater of the electronic factory served this time, the high-ionicity cationic PAM, with its highly extended molecular chain structure and strong charge neutralization capacity, can quickly destroy the colloidal stability of pollutants and form dense flocs, thus achieving a better treatment effect, which confirms the core logic of "water quality adaptation first" in reagent selection.

The successful experiment of this customized solution not only demonstrates Jiangsu Hengfeng's R&D strength and customized service capacity in the fine chemical field, but also provides a new idea for wastewater treatment of similar electronic factories — breaking the inherent selection thinking, and realizing the optimal balance between wastewater treatment efficiency and cost through accurate judgment of water quality characteristics and scientific matching of reagent models.
